Raw Vegan is No Joke – Over 30 Days Eating Raw

I have known for long time that a whole plant diet, aka an herbivore diet as given to mankind by Elohim in Genesis 1:29 is a healthy and health promoting diet.

29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.

We have reaped the benefits of eating a whole food plant diet. For the last four years, we have been eating just that and thriving, but I still had some niggling little inflammation issues that continue to pop up now and again that I have yet to narrow down to a cause.

I honestly do not know why so many people find it so difficult to change the way they fuel their body. It’s like Elohim has in one hand life and death in the other, but people want to keep choosing death. It is simple enough that even our special needs daughter understands that live food gives life and dead things bring death. My Mother-in-Law ate what we prepared for three months and her autoimmune issues started improving; then she decided that she had been eating the same way for over 80 years and she was not going to change now. I do not understand why anyone would choose to continue getting sicker, than change what they are doing and get well. The specialist she saw for Sjogren’s syndrome told her to eat the way we were eating to improve, also.

It does remind me a little of the Bible verse where Joshua told the children of Israel in Deuteronomy 30: 15-20

15 See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

16 In that I command thee this day to love the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the Lord thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

17 But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

18 I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:

20 That thou mayest love the Lord thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the Lord sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.

I said all that, to lead up to this. I knew a whole plant diet is healthy. And I knew that a raw plant diet is even more so, or YAH would not have given that to us first to consume. This is what led us to choose to eat raw plants for the past 30 plus days, because we are seeking to continue reversing dis-ease in our bodies.

I have heard all the testimonials from people who rave about how much healthier they are consuming a raw plant diet and how they have reversed dis-eases and how they have gained a higher quality of life.

For myself, over the last 30 plus days, I can attest that:

I need less sleep.

I stay asleep all night (except when Kelsey wakes me up).

I have a better quality of sleep as evidenced by my very vivid dreams.

My dry eye condition has reversed itself and I can once again wear contacts.

I wake up every morning, ready to get started with the day which is a completely new experience for me.

I have energy that lasts throughout the day with no sags around 4:00 PM like I have had for as long as I can remember.

I have had a more positive outlook…perhaps this is because I feel better and more energetic.

My body is more hydrated, and I have had remarks that my face “just glows.”

The eating disorders that have plagued me have disappeared. I have not obsessed about food. I have not over indulged, even though what we make is delicious! I do not feel out of control when it comes to food.

My blood pressure and blood sugar are approaching normal levels without drugs.

My weight is slowly dropping too.

I did not realize how profound an effect the food would have on us just switching from cooked whole plant vegan to raw vegan. We still have things that we need to heal, myself in particular; however, Shavuot (Pentacost) brought with it the eating of cooked food. It was healthy cooked plant food, but the effect it had on our bodies was profound.

After one day of eating cooked healthy vegan food, this is what we have observed the next day:

Todd had issues with his gums feeling like they are scratched, his tongue got an infected taste bud, he said he feels half sick.

As for me the very next morning, both numbers of my blood pressure had leapt 30 points, likewise with my blood sugar. I also do not feel quite right in my body. My stomach feels heavy. I feel a little achy and sluggish I have a headache. I was not as energized to start the day today. I had to push myself to get things accomplished this morning. The eczema rash that was healing up on my finger has flared back up. I feel like I need a nap, and I haven’t felt like that in over a month.

We used to eat about a 50/50 diet of 50% being raw and the other 50% being cooked; we are now sold that our diet is going to have to approach a 90/10, with 90% being raw and 10% or less being cooked. We ate clean before, and we had this profound a difference in 30 days, what will a year bring?

If you think that what you fuel your body with does not matter, that you can thrive on take out and greasy food that just slides down your throat without chewing, I challenge you to do 30 days raw vegan, with nothing cooked, not added oils, no animal products. How much better could YOU feel in 30 days?

Changing your diet is not drastic. Having your chest cracked open following a massive heart attack….THAT is drastic, but changing the foods you eat is not.

We would love it if you would subscribe to our weekly newsletter!
