What if the definition of righteousness you inherited was never the one Jesus taught? The Way is a bold, deeply researched journey back to the Hebraic roots of covenant faithfulness — tracing righteousness from Eden through Torah, the prophets, Jesus’s own teaching, and into an honest, unflinching examination of Paul’s theological shift. This is not abstract theology. It is a call to realignment — and an invitation to walk the Ancient Path again.

Description

What does it mean to be righteous?

For most of us raised in Western Christianity, the answer comes quickly: to be justified by faith — declared innocent before God through belief in Jesus. But this definition, familiar as it is, is not the one YHVH gave to Israel. It is not the one the prophets proclaimed. And it is not the one Yeshua lived and taught.

In Scripture, righteousness is not a status. It is a walk.

The Way: Restoring Righteousness, Walking the Ancient Covenant Path of Jesus, and Uncovering Paul’s Impact on Law & Gospel takes readers on a sweeping journey through the full biblical arc of tzedek — from its Paleo-Hebrew pictographic roots, through the Torah and the prophets, through Yeshua’s embodiment of covenant faithfulness, and into an honest, careful examination of how Paul’s letters shifted the definition of righteousness away from its Hebraic foundations.

This is not a book written in the spirit of rebellion. It is written in the spirit of devotion to truth, to YHVH, and to the ancient path that Yeshua himself walked and called his followers to walk.

In these pages, you will:

  • Explore the rich Hebrew vocabulary of righteousness — tzedek, tzedakah, yashar, mishpat, and emunah, and discover what the words themselves reveal about how YHVH designed covenant life
  • Trace righteousness through the Hebrew Scriptures from the Garden, through the patriarchs, the Torah, and the voices of the prophets
  • Encounter Yeshua as the Righteous One — not a replacement for the Torah, but its fullest expression
  • Examine Paul’s theological shift with honesty and scholarly care, comparing his framework against the Hebraic covenant path
  • Follow the historical thread of the remnant — those who preserved Torah faithfulness through centuries of empire, exile, and institutional pressure
  • Discover what it looks like to walk in covenant righteousness today, in ordinary life, as YHVH’s people

This is not a book of easy answers. It is a book of honest questions and a deep confidence that YHVH’s truth can withstand them.

The Way is the second collaborative work from Angel Tate Keaton and Todd G. Keaton, written for seekers, students, and all who have felt the pull of something older and truer beneath the surface of inherited religion.

A Deeper Look at the Jewish Faith
Reviewed in the United States on June 13, 2026
    Format: Hardcover

The core idea of this book is that modern church culture is too Americanized and Westernized. It is missing the Middle Eastern context. It shows how some people have stripped Jesus and his disciples out of the Jewish culture, which makes people misunderstand the scriptures. The first part focuses on ancient Hebrew words, showing that concepts like “faith” and “righteousness” are about action and loyalty, not passive status. The middle section tracks how the early Church cut itself off from its Jewish roots. And how it warped the letters of the Apostle Paul through Greek philosophy over the centuries. It follows the forgotten history from the early Nazarenes, the old Celtic Church, and the Ethiopian Orthodox tradition.

It’s over 400 pages and has a lot of ancient texts and language studies. For anyone with a traditional church background, the push toward keeping the Sabbath or dietary laws might feel a bit strict. Plus, if a person actually decides to live out what they preach, it can get lonely since most modern churches don’t operate this way. Honestly, it’s also a good history lesson for people who aren’t Christian. For any history nerd, it’s a cool breakdown of how a Middle Eastern movement got hijacked by Roman politics and Greek philosophy. Remember, it is a faith-based book, so if a reader doesn’t care about the Bible, the heavy scriptural arguments will probably bore them.

I did not know so much information is in here to learn, even mentioning the Torah and stuff like that, I never knew that type of information so it’s kind of nice to read and learn words and phrases and different aspects of it.

Reviewed in the United States on June 29, 2026
    Format: Hardcover

The Way is one of the most challenging and intellectually engaging books I’ve read on the subject of biblical righteousness. Rather than simply repeating familiar theological conclusions, Angel Tate Keaton and Todd G. Keaton invite readers to reconsider the Hebrew foundations of faith through careful linguistic study, historical research, and a fresh examination of the first-century Jewish world of Yeshua. Whether or not you agree with every argument, the book raises important questions about how centuries of tradition have shaped modern Christianity and encourages a deeper exploration of Scripture in its original context. Scholarly without being inaccessible, The Way is a compelling read for anyone seeking to better understand the ancient roots of biblical faith.

This isn’t a light or quick read; it’s a comprehensive book that challenges long-held assumptions and encourages careful reflection. Some of its interpretations are likely to spark discussion, especially regarding Paul and traditional Christian theology, but the authors consistently encourage readers to search the Scriptures for themselves. The Way is an insightful and compelling read for anyone who enjoys digging deeper into biblical studies, Hebrew thought, and the historical foundations of faith.
