Massive Closet Declutter Destash Moving to Natural Fibers: Will You Become a Linenite, too?

We are moving to natural fibers which prompted a MASSIVE closet declutter and destash. Will you too become a Linenite?

Have you ever wondered why synthetic fibers create static electrical charges? When I was a little girl, we would scoot our feet across the carpet, specifically to create electrical charges in our bodies so that we could shock each other. It was great fun!

As you get older, those electrical currents and charges can be anything but fun. Everything in the whole Earth has a vibrational frequency, including the clothes that we wear, the carpets we walk on, the bed clothes we sleep on, and on and on. Some electrical charges are good for us and some are not. Some help build our body back up, and some work to degrade our body.

Did you know the Bible warns us against mixing wool with linen? Look at Leviticus 19:19 and Deuteronomy 22:9-11. I used to think that was because the different fibers have a different rate of shrinkage…which they do. BUT wait, there is more! I believe it has to do with being unequally yoked together. The word in Deuteronomy 22:9 that is used is sa-at-nez (pronounced shah-ay-naze). While that is not a current Hebrew word, it does appear to be three Hebrew words hyphened like we in English take the words do and not and combine them to make one word: don’t. The Rabbis of the Talmud believe it to be a condensed version of three words: shua tabu’i nuz. Respectively those three words mean “combed or carded,” “spun,” and “woven.” (Reference link) There are other theories, but this does make the most sense to me, being a fiber artist, because what do you have to do with wool and linen to make it into a garment? First it has to be combed or carded. Then it has to be spun into thread or yarn. Lastly it gets woven into fabric or a garment.

There’s more to it than that! Did you know that if you do mix the two fibers: wool and linen, ……even if they are in two different fabrics that are layered on top of each other (not just unequally yoked in one garment) that the vibrational frequencies will cancel each other out? It is true, linen possesses healing properties as outlined in the Torah. I have seen the healing properties of linen espoused all over the place, in several blog posts, pages selling linen garments etc, but I had to search high and low to local the original source, because apparently people think it isn’t important to give credit to the original author. I did the research for you and found it!! Please read this article, the original source of the information and research related to linen that everyone else is quoting (correctly): Tikkun Olam to Heal the World Wearing Healing Flax-Linen Attire for more information about the healing effects of linen!! It is astounding and has been right under our noses for centuries in the Holy Bible. This article was written by Dr. Heidi Crawford-Yellen

Full disclosure: the term Linenite was coined by Nathan Reynolds and his wife Chelsea. You can follow them on Youtube at: Nathan Reynolds YouTube

Interestingly enough, I am a fiber artist, meaning I crochet, knit (some), and am a seamstress. Prior to learning about the superiority of linen and wool, I had noticed that over the last two years I have been moving more toward natural fibers and away from synthetic on ALL venues. The feel of synthetic fibers started making the tips of my fingers itch when I touched it. I noticed the exact same sensation when I was “treasure hunting” with Kelsey at the Goodwill for linen garments to replace the clothes we were decluttering from our closets.

Hence the decluttering began and I began listing the new clothes on Ebay. Aparently through my ups and downs in weight, I have become quite a clothing hoarder. Not intentionally of course, but I did accumulate quite a bit of clothing that I never got to wear. So now I am hoping that they will find a good home, and the proceeds from their sell with help with replacing the clothing in our closets….well….not all the closets.

If you wish to follow along with me on this journey, this is a link to my YouTube playlist highlighting all the clothes that got listed on ebay for each listing day. I also have some yarns for sale as well. Click the Youtube link below. If you are interested in buying any of the clothes I am selling, irregardless of the information I just shared, my ebay link is Healthy_in_Heart

We would love it if you would subscribe to our weekly newsletter!
