My First Time Ordering From Azure Standard Company Review
I have recently started milling my own grain, because it is healthier to consume the whole grain instead of a commercially produced flour that has had the germ and endosperm sifted out (removing the vitamins and minerals) and then having only a few (4) of those added back in, and what is labeled as “whole grain” in the store is not truly the whole grain. So, I have been on the hunt for organic grains that I can buy in bulk and save money, because if you have your “daily bread,” then you will go through some grains.
I purchased some grains from the Bread Beckers, and they have good quality grain, but because I live so far away, it is expensive to ship grains in bulk to my house…$200-300 in shipping costs alone IS expensive. Please note that this is not the Bread Beckers’ fault; shipping charges for heavy items are expensive. They are a good, reputable company with top-notch customer service that goes above and beyond.
So, I have been looking for a more affordable way to feed my family healthy daily breads. I recently learned about Azure Standard….talk about Divine Providence, huh? YAH always sends us what we need when we ask! With Azure, you are able to buy most grains for affordable prices, and with their drop location shipping program it saves money!! Significant money! For approximately the same weight (ordering from Bread Beckers versus Azure Standard), I was able to get 100 pounds of grain and other things shipped to my city for just over $28.00. Now THAT is a HUGE savings!
How the drop works: You have to drive to meet the truck at a specified location to pick up your purchases. They ask you to be there 15 minutes early, help unload the truck and separate the boxes according to who purchased the boxes, then you can load up and go home.
My drop was at a school that had recently been closed when a new building was erected to replace it. Kelsey had some issues with it being at a school, since her last year at school was not a pleasant one for her, but that is the only issue I had. I got there and met the lady who is in charge of the drop site. We chatted until the truck pulled up. Several other families were there picking up their purchases as well. Everyone pitched in to unload the truck and stack the boxes according to who purchased them under an awning that provides shelter for the purchases when it’s raining or other inclement weather. It worked really well, and everyone was pleasant. One person had not shown up by the time I left, so Drop Coordinator (the woman in charge of the drop had to handle that issue), and I’m not sure what happened. Hopefully the person who purchased all that food did show up shortly thereafter.
The truck drops occur once a month, so you can save up to purchase what you need to stock your pantry, but if the minimum purchase hasn’t been met (includes the purchases of all the consumers who receive their shipments at that specific drop location) then it will hold over to the next month. The total combined minimum order per drop location is $550. It’s not astronomical, so a few families together could easily meet that minimum requirement. Each individual’s order has to be a minimum of $50 or you are charged a $5 handling fee. That too is very reasonable…after all, how much do you spend weekly at the grocery store and this could save you time and expense. You can also have your order shipped to your house, but that is more expensive. It is totally worth the time and effort to join a drop group.
I believe your card is charged when they load the truck, but you do not have to place the order until the cut off day which occurs just before they start loading the truck for shipment. There is a refrigerated section, also, so you can purchase cold and frozen goods. I have not done so, because there wasn’t anything on the list that we use as of yet. They have fresh produce, meats, flour, grains, beans, canned goods, pastas, oils, sweeteners, butter, pet food and supplies, and more.
Not only was the shipping cheaper, but the price of the items was less expensive as well. Please note that not all items are less expensive than purchasing in the local store, IF you ARE able to purchase them in the local store. For instance, Amy’s soups are less expensive at Walmart, but more expensive at other stores. Kelsey really loves the hot vegan chili that Amy’s has. This is where it really matters for you to know the prices you pay locally, so you can comparison shop. Another thing I really like about Azure Standard is that they break down the cost per item by the cost per pound or ounce (depending on the product) so you can make an informed decision really quickly without doing the cost analysis yourself for every item versus the savings you get by purchasing in bulk. Below are pictures (screenshots) showing what I mean:
Will I purchase from Azure Standard again? You betcha!! I am already building my cart for next month! This has been a pleasant experience from start to finish, and I am considerably impressed. (I don’t say that often!)
If you want to check out Azure Standard for yourself, here is a link. I am not an affiliate, but they do have share program in which I will get a one time credit of $25 if you choose to purchase and your purchase is $100 or over.

If you use our share code or link and we get the credit, we thank you!
Oh, and lest I forget, if there is no drop location in your area, you can become a Drop Coordinator yourself. There is a small credit given to the Drop Coordinators based on the total cost of each drop if the total is over $1000, the gratitude is $15 and up, so there is that benefit of getting free groceries for a little bit of your time once a month if your drop meets the minimum requirements.
I hope that you check out Azure Standard, as I believe you will be blessed with a lower cost to living healthy in heart, mind, body, and soul. BTW I almost forgot to mention that the mobile site is clear, concise, and easy to read just as the computer or desktop site is. I have it bookmarked on my phone, and that is actually what I used to make my first purchase.
This is the video I created showing what we purchased this month and the storage we use to ensure our grains stay fresh and viable, and most importantly: BUG FREE!
Thank you for your time! May Yahuah bless you and keep you and give you shalom, until next time!
