Cayenne Cocktail: Migraine Herbal Remedy

Cayenne Cocktail: A Natural Migraine Herbal Remedy That Works!

I used to get migraines all the time. They knocked me down for days, sometimes even weeks. Light, sound, and touch were unbearable. The worst one? It felt like my skin was being peeled off whenever something touched me. Absolute misery.

Then, I found out about cayenne. This little spice is a vasodilator, meaning it helps your veins relax and widen, letting blood flow more easily. Better circulation, better relief! It also relaxes muscles. (I’ll share my cayenne body lotion recipe soon—it’s a lifesaver for muscle pain.) Cayenne isn’t just great for migraines. It can help with diabetes, high blood pressure, and more. You can check out those benefits [at this LINK].

Why Cayenne Works for Migraines

Prescription migraine meds come with a laundry list of side effects—dizziness, nausea, brain fog, and in some cases, even more headaches! I was once on one medication that would knock me out for hours and leave me groggy for hours after I woke up. Who thought that was a good idea? Cayenne, on the other hand, gets to work naturally by increasing blood flow and relaxing tight blood vessels. Since some migraines are caused by constricted blood vessels, cayenne can stop them before they get worse.

What Are Vasodilators?

Vasodilators are substances that widen blood vessels, improving circulation and reducing pressure. When a migraine starts, blood vessels often constrict, causing pain and sensitivity. A vasodilator like cayenne can help by opening things up and keeping the blood moving freely.

Other natural vasodilators include:

  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Turmeric
  • Dark chocolate (yes, you read that right!)
  • Beetroot
  • Ginkgo biloba

Incorporating as many of these vasodilators into your daily diet as possible can greatly enhance your health.

My Experience with the Cayenne Cocktail

I made this cayenne cocktail specifically to fight migraines. In just minutes, my headache would ease up—sometimes I needed a second dose, but that’s still better than prescription meds! No nasty side effects, no feeling like a zombie afterward.

Prevention Is Key

The best part? Ever since switching to a whole-food, plant-based vegan diet, I haven’t had a single migraine! Not one! Praise YAH! Now, I still get headaches sometimes, and about twice a year, I feel a migraine coming on. I take my cayenne cocktail, and it never fully develops. This mix also helps with muscle and joint pain, phlebitis, and inflammation.

Cayenne for Muscle and Joint Pain

Cayenne isn’t just a hero for migraines—it works wonders for muscle and joint pain, too! Taken internally, it boosts circulation, reducing inflammation and discomfort. Applied as a lotion, it penetrates deep into sore muscles and achy joints, providing fast relief. Whether you drink it or rub it on, cayenne gets to work quickly, easing pain and improving mobility. If stiffness and soreness are slowing you down, this fiery remedy might be just what you need! While I wouldn’t put any alcohol in this Cocktail, I can attest that it works to relieve mine and my family’s myriad aches and pains. I’ll be sharing my cayenne body lotion recipe soon!

Final Thoughts (and a Disclaimer!)

Cayenne is a powerhouse, but I am not a doctor—nor do I play one on TV! Always check with your physician before trying new remedies. If you struggle with migraines, why not give this Cayenne Cocktail, a natural approach to a migraine herbal remedy, a shot? Your head (and whole body) might just thank you!

    1. I have never taken it as a preventative measure but I wish I had thought of that! Migraines are the worst pain! If you try it and it works, please come back and share! I have used it as a preventative to lower blood pressure caused by a situational heavy stress load, so it is possible.
