Tofu Mayo: The Best Healthy Alternative to Traditional Mayo
Mayonnaise lovers, listen up! If you want a creamy, delicious spread without the excess fat, tofu mayo is your new best friend. It’s a whole food, plant-based, low-fat alternative that won’t send your blood sugar on a rollercoaster ride. Is it exactly like the classic eggy mayo? Nope. But is it an amazing and healthy replacement? Absolutely!

My Mayo Meltdown: A Tale of Tears and Triumph
Once upon a time, I made the best egg-based mayonnaise. It was rich, fatty, and absolutely delicious. Then, I decided to go plant-based. I was determined to make a mayo that fit my new lifestyle. How hard could it be?
Very.
I attempted batch after batch, and they all flopped. The texture was wrong. The taste was off. At one point, I cried in utter defeat. My wonderful husband, ever the encourager, reminded me that I am not a quitter. He assured me that I would figure it out. And guess what? I did!
Now, I have a tofu mayo recipe that is creamy, flavorful, and doesn’t send my blood glucose soaring.
Tofu Mayo vs. Egg Mayo: A Healthier Choice
Egg mayo is high in fat and cholesterol. It’s creamy, but at what cost? Too much can contribute to heart disease and weight gain. Tofu mayo, on the other hand, is made from whole soybeans. It’s naturally cholesterol-free, packed with plant-based protein, and easy on digestion.
Plus, tofu mayo ditches the heavy, oily mouthfeel. After switching to a low-fat diet, I don’t even miss it!
Tofu Mayo vs. Aquafaba Mayo with Oil: The Smarter Swap
Aquafaba mayo is another plant-based option, but it’s still loaded with oil. That means it’s high in fat, just like traditional mayo. Sure, it’s a step in the right direction, but why settle?
Tofu mayo keeps things light while still delivering that familiar, creamy texture. It’s the best whole-food, plant-based mayo replacement I’ve ever tried. Hands down.
Give It a Try!
If you’re looking for a mayo that’s creamy, delicious, and won’t weigh you down, tofu mayo is the answer. It’s easy to make, good for your health, and totally satisfying. So, what are you waiting for? Ditch the unhealthy stuff and whip up a batch today!
PS if you want it taste even more like real egg-mayo, add a little black salt aka Vegan Kala Namak Salt to it.
