Society Stop! We’re Going the Wrong Way!
Today, I had a face-off in Walmart. I had run in for a few quick items that Food Lion didn’t have. Since the pandemic started, I’ve preferred Food Lion because they don’t drown customers in over-the-top rules.
When I shop, I’m on a mission. No chit-chat. No distractions. I get in, grab what I need, and escape. Unless we’re talking about plants or yarn—then I linger.
Wrong Way: Shopping Showdown
A woman, a few years my senior (and old enough to know better), shoved her cart across the aisle right in front of me. She effectively blocked my way, forcing a confrontation or a retreat. Who does that? I don’t turn tail and run, so a standoff it was.
Wishing I can say I had a holy moment, but honestly, my temper flared. I shot up a quick prayer: Lord, don’t let me say something that’ll make You look bad. Then, firmly but (somewhat) politely, I told her: “Excuse you. Move your cart.”
Thankfully, my daughter wasn’t with me. That would have activated my mama bear instincts, and my response might not have been so “eloquent.”
Wrong Way: Follow the Arrows, Sheep
Her reply? “You’re walking the wrong way. There are arrows.”

Yes, there were stickers on the floor trying to herd shoppers like cattle. I glanced down, then back at her, unimpressed. “Yes, there are arrows. But they’re not law. I don’t follow dictation, and you don’t have to be hateful.”
I walked away, grabbed my groceries, and left without further incident. Did my direction harm her? No. Was I in her way? No. I refuse to stare at the floor like a trained animal. I am not livestock.
Wrong Way: Society’s Spiral
We, as humans, are going the wrong way.
I’ve spent years studying human behavior. I’ve read psychology textbooks, observed people since childhood, and studied scripture. Nothing surprises me—until now. People are treating each other worse than ever.
Paul’s warning in II Timothy 3:1-4 rings true:
“In the last days, perilous times shall come. People will be lovers of themselves, proud, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, fierce, despisers of good…”
Sound familiar? Society is crumbling. We’re encouraged to report businesses, neighbors, even family. If you can’t see the storm coming, you’re not paying attention.
Wrong Way: The Fear Pandemic
Earlier that morning, I chatted with Monique, a Food Lion cashier. She told me someone had sprayed her with an unknown aerosol—and refused to say what it was! Who does that?
She also shared, “I never thought I’d have to choose between wearing a mask I can’t breathe in or getting fired.”
How did we get here? How did fear become the tool that divides and conquers?
Wrong Way: Shaming the Free Thinkers
I don’t buy into the fear-demic. I research. The COVID death rate is 0.05% (if the data is even accurate). False positives, misclassified deaths—all swept under the rug.
I don’t shame people who follow the rules. If a mask gives you comfort, wear it. But don’t shame me for making a different choice. Shaming others for independent thought? That’s the wrong way.
Wrong Way: Manufactured Division
The media and politicians aren’t just using fear; they’re pushing division. People apologize for their skin color. They kiss feet to atone for sins they never committed. This is not progress. It’s madness.
Ayanna Pressley recently declared, “Black Lives Matter is a mandate. Pay us what you owe us.”[Retrieved from Trending Politics]
Excuse me? No one alive today was a slave or owned a slave. The real tragedy? The modern slave trade is thriving. But instead of fighting real oppression, people demand reparations for history they never lived.
Wrong Way: Government Dependency
Handouts aren’t free. They’re modern slavery. The system keeps you dependent, never giving enough to escape. If you earn “too much,” your aid gets cut. I know—I’ve been there.
The truth? There’s only one race: the human race. We all come from the same ancestors. Skin color is nothing more than an adaptation to sunlight. Assigning value to melanin? That’s the wrong way.
Wrong Way: Worshipping Idols
And for those demanding the removal of “white Jesus” statues? Go ahead! Tear them all down. Every statue, every war memorial—because they’re all idols. Exodus 20:4 is clear: “Thou shalt not make any graven image…”
The real danger isn’t statues. It’s the intentional division. Why? Because united we stand, divided we fall. A weak nation is easy to control. That’s the wrong way.
The Right Way: Love One Another
Yeshua made it simple:
“Love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and love thy neighbor as thyself.” (Matthew 22:37-40)
Every life matters. From the unborn to the elderly, from the lightest skin to the darkest. God values us all.
I challenge you to examine how you treat people. Are you shoving carts in their path, or are you spreading love? Choose wisely, because humanity is dangerously close to going the wrong way.
