If You Love Me Keep My Commandments
For Verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Matthew 5:18
If ye love me, keep my commandments. John 14:15

For months we have had a huge jar of nuts. Did I mention it was huge? We didn’t want to eat it, but “it costs too much” to just throw away.
Have you ever been so hungry that once you were able to eat, you ate until you were so full you could barely move? Have you ever been so thirsty with your lips parched, your mouth dry, beads of salty sweat drying on your face and neck, so thirsty that you drank so much water…
Part of harvesting is gathering the seed from the harvest, drying it out, and saving it for planting next season, because a true gardener is always looking ahead to what is coming. I learned something new recently about saving the seed that I find quite intriguing, and whether you garden or not, I hope you can garner some understanding in the many references to winnowing, separating the chaff from the wheat, and the good seed from the chaff.
My mother used to tell me, “waste not, want not.” I don’t know about you, but I get a little disgusted at having to throw away or compost what was once really good and delicious food! Food that we worked hard to make money to buy or to grow in our garden. Have you ever gotten to the end of the week or the end of batch cooking for the week and wondered what to do with the vegetables that are left over? You don’t want them to go to waste, but you don’t quite know what to do with them either.
Though the four Hebrew Children surely felt fear at refusing to consume the king’s meat and wine, they chose to honor and obey God instead.
As a nation, as a people, we are going the wrong way.
No one in my family likes beets. We just don’t care for the “earthy” flavor they are infamous for. However, I found myself with some beets that I needed to use in some way….and for some reason I could not even give them away. So, instead of creating waste, I created the recipe for these Beet & Bean Burgers. When I say these burgers were a hit, I am seriously understating it!! BWe ALL loved these, even my most picky eater! Todd turned them into gourmet burgers the next day for lunch, and they were even better. These are even good cold! I hope you give them a try! Let me know what you think.
Are you a faithful bride? Marriage is the ultimate commitment or covenant that human beings make to one another. This is why in the Bible there are so many references to marriage and Christians being the Bride of Christ. When God first convicts our soul, we ask God to forgive us of our sins, and God, in his infinite grace, covers our sins with the blood of Jesus. We become the Bride of Christ. We have made the ultimate commitment and covenant with God. We are no longer our own to do as we please but we become one with God.
Head Knowledge or Heart Knowledge Every time I look back at the memories of posts I have made on Facebook 5, 7, 10 years ago, I see all these comments from people I neither recognize nor remember, but people who I was friends with at some point in time….for some reason. I catch myself marveling…
